Creamy cottage cheese topped with fresh berries, a drizzle of raw honey, and warm cinnamon.

5 min beginner Yields 1 bowl Keeps Best served fresh

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cottage cheese (Full-fat, plain)
  • 1/2 cup Mixed berries (Fresh or thawed from frozen)
  • 1 tbsp Raw honey
  • 1/4 tsp Ground cinnamon

Steps

  1. Scoop the cottage cheese into a bowl. If you prefer a smoother texture, give it a quick blend in a food processor or whisk vigorously with a fork for 30 seconds.

  2. Wash and pat dry the berries. If using frozen berries, thaw them in the fridge beforehand so they don’t make the bowl watery.

  3. Arrange the berries on top of the cottage cheese β€” scatter them for a casual look or pile them in the center.

  4. Drizzle the raw honey over everything in a slow, thin stream.

  5. Dust the cinnamon evenly across the top. Serve immediately.

Why It Works

Cottage cheese is one of the most protein-dense whole foods available, making it ideal for a late-night snack that actually satisfies. The protein and fat keep you full without spiking blood sugar before bed. Berries add natural sweetness and antioxidants, while raw honey and cinnamon round out the flavor without any processed ingredients.

Tips

  • Go full-fat. Low-fat cottage cheese has more additives and less flavor. Full-fat tastes richer, keeps you fuller, and has a better nutrient profile.
  • Warm it up. For a cozy twist, microwave the cottage cheese for 20-30 seconds. Warm cottage cheese with honey and cinnamon tastes surprisingly like a dessert.
  • Add crunch. A tablespoon of raw walnuts or pumpkin seeds adds texture and extra minerals.
